Brentford boss Thomas Frank has admitted that he is “flattered” by interest in him after reportedly becoming the frontrunner to replace Erik ten Hag at Manchester United. The current head coach at Old Trafford has come under increased pressure and the club’s new minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe may make a managerial change after the upcoming FA Cup final against Manchester City.
The Telegraph claim that Frank has quickly become a leading contender to replace Ten Hag, should the Dutchman lose his position at United, despite a Manchester derby cup final on the horizon.
The Red Devils sit in eighth place in the Premier League table and face the prospect of going into next season without any European football, prompting the suggestion that Ten Hag could be sacked and replaced by Frank.
But the Dane has played down reports linking him with the top United job, keeping his cards to his chest while admitting that he is proud that his work at Brentford is being recognised.
