Thiago Silva breaks silence on emotional Wembley scenes as exit looms

FOOTBALL LONDON

Chelsea defender Thiago Silva has responded to the FA Cup semi-final loss against Manchester City, after he was spotted crying on the Wembley pitch at full-time.

Silva played the full 90 minutes of the 1-0 loss, courtesy of Bernardo Silva’s 84th-minute goal. The 39-year-old is out of contract at Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, meaning that unless the 39-year-old signs a new deal in the coming months, he will depart the club without having won domestic silverware.

He could not hide his disappointment at full-time with videos and pictures showing Silva getting emotional on the pitch after the game. The defender also took to Instagram to share his feelings.

Posting a picture of himself after the game, Silva wrote: “It is difficult to describe in words what I feel now. We are very sorry we didn’t make it, we left everything on the pitch.
