Revealed: How much Man Utd will have to pay to sign Edson Alvarez from West Ham

Manchester United have reportedly been told how much they have to pay to sign Edson Alvarez from West Ham after they enquired about the Mexican.

Alvarez is no stranger to Erik ten Hag, having flourished under his guidance during their time together at Ajax. The duo won two Dutch titles together and the manager is eager to bring him to Old Trafford next season, according to Sky Germany.

Despite Alvarez’s importance to the squad, West Ham are not entirely opposed to the idea of selling him. His price tag is estimated to be between €60-80 million (£51m/$64 – £68m/$86m), reflecting his market value and the potential he brings to any team.

With Casemiro nearing the twilight years of his career, United are looking for a capable replacement. And Ten Hag’s familiarity with Alvarez adds a layer of confidence in pursuing the Mexican international. His versatility allows him to play various roles in midfield, whether as a defensive anchor or in a more advanced position – making him a valuable asset for Ten Hag.
