Premier League confirm six VAR changes after Everton and Liverpool vote

Everton and Liverpool will continue to have VAR officiate their matches next season after Premier League clubs voted to retain the technology.

Despite a proposal from Wolverhampton Wanderers to scrap VAR due to several incorrect decisions in the 2023/24 season, the Premier League AGM on June 6 saw clubs favor its continuation. Introduced in August 2019, VAR will remain with planned improvements to enhance accuracy and supporter experience.

The Premier League’s statement emphasized the importance of collaboration between PGMOL, the Premier League, and clubs to refine the system, focusing on six key improvement areas.
