Nicolas Jackson has responded to Mauricio Pochettino as Chelsea future at risk

EXPRESS

Chelsea star Nicolas Jackson has reportedly accepted that he is not his side’s penalty taker, following an embarrassing scuffle with Noni Madueke and Cole Palmer against Everton on Monday night. The trio were all keen to step up from 12 yards before the latter was given the chance to bag his fourth goal of the game.

Palmer stole the show, once again, for the Blues at Stamford Bridge on Monday. The playmaker bagged a first-half hat-trick before coolly dispatching his penalty in the 64th minute to take his goal tally to 20 for the season.

Jackson and Alfie Gilchrist were both on the scoresheet for Chelsea in what should have been seen as an impressive display by Mauricio Pochettino’s side. However, a squabble for the penalty between Palmer, Jackson and Madueke – whilst the Blues led 4-0 – took the gloss off of the victory.

Conor Gallagher intervened to ensure that Palmer was able to continue his red-hot form from the spot, with Pochettino speaking out against the embarrassing antics in his post-match interviews.

According to The Telegraph, Jackson was still agitated after the full-time whistle sounded and needed to be calmed down by teammate Moises Caicedo. The ex-Villarreal star was then told, along with the rest of the Chelsea team, that Palmer is the Blues’ allocated penalty taker.
