Erik Ten Hag brands Manchester United’s critics ‘a disgrace’

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has branded the reaction to his side’s FA Cup semi-final victory over Coventry City a “disgrace.”

On Sunday United reached a second consecutive FA Cup final with a penalty shoot-out win over the Championship side at Wembley Stadium following their 3-3 draw after extra-time.

However, United squandered a 3-0 lead they had held as late as the 71st minute in normal time, and were fortunate not to lose in the final minute of extra-time when Coventry had a goal narrowly ruled offside by VAR.

This meant there was a lack of celebration from the United players after the game, and a strange sense of deflation amongst the club’s fans, but Ten Hag was only interested in talking up United’s achievement.

“In top football, it is about results and we made it to the final and we deserved it,” the Dutchman said in a press conference on Tuesday.
