Chelsea’s first blockbuster transfer of summer 2024 is as good as done

THE TRIVELA EFFECT

Chelsea have been the biggest buyers on the transfer market since Todd Boehly took over in 2022, but they have little to show for it in terms of success in the Premier League table.

At least this season, Chelsea might get back to European football, thanks in large part to one transfer that has paid off handsomely – former Manchester City prospect Cole Palmer.

Chelsea need to keep trying on the transfer market, but they need to be smarter about the players they invest in, focusing on talents they believe in at prices under 100 million euros.

Estevao Willian has become Chelsea’s top transfer target of choice, and they are on the cusp of officially announcing the 17-year-old Palmeiras phenom as a signing.

Having agreed to Palmeiras on a transfer worth around 60 million euros in total fees, Fabrizio Romano has reported that Chelsea have agreed on personal terms with the young right winger nicknamed “Messinho”.
