Arsenal set for imminent FFP boost as Premier League cash injection confirmed

FOOTBALL LONDON

No matter what happens on Sunday afternoon, Arsenal are set for a substantial Premier League Financial Fair Play (FFP) boost on the final day of the season.

Mikel Arteta’s side know that the title race is out of their hands ahead of this afternoon’s clash with Everton at the Emirates Stadium. Should they beat Sean Dyche’s side, they would need Manchester City to drop points at home to West Ham United for the title to head to North London

Should Arsenal not beat the Toffees they would have no chance of winning the Premier League even if City were to lose to David Moyes’ men. After falling away before the final day of the season last year, the Gunners have shown progress to take the title race to the wire.

However, should they fall short on Sunday, there will be a consolation prize in the form of the prize money they are set to receive for finishing second or first. If Arteta’s men were to defy the odds and win the Premier League, they would bank £62.3m in prize money based on what City earned last season for their triumph.
